When communities come together the experience brings individuals a rewarding sense of personal worth and creates a place where people are proud to live and work. Elevations Credit Union understands the value in coming together as a community. As an organization that began in Boulder over 50 years ago, we've seen many changes in the area. We recognize the benefit the many businesses and humanitarian organizations bring to our community. We also realize that as an organization that serves the financial needs of over 75,000 members we have an obligation to support the community as well.

Our volunteer Community Relations Committee oversees grants and giving programs that support educational opportunities, enhance and protect our environment, and provide affordable housing in our area. Our annual pledge is to support the community with an amount equal to 2% of net income in grants, sponsorships, fund-raising, scholarships and in-kind services. As a result developmentally disabled youth will gain their first job experiences. Low-income families will have homes through Alliance for the American Dream, a joint venture with Thistle Community Housing. And young people will pursue their educational dreams. These are just three examples of our commitment to community.

In addition, staff are encouraged to become active in the community by participating with non-profit organizations through our program of paid volunteer time-off. By providing volunteer opportunities for staff we hope to kindle a spirit that will continuously grow and spread throughout the community.

Other financial institutions often give back to the community for a tax break and to satisfy regulatory requirements. As a not-for-profit organization, we do this because we belong to the community and because it is the right thing for us to do.
