Courtesy Pay works in conjunction with overdraft protection to cover your transactions if you have insufficient funds in your checking account. If you write a check or authorize a Check Card transaction (using a signature or a PIN) for an amount that is greater than the available balance in your checking account, your overdraft protection funds are used to cover the transaction. If or when your overdraft protection funds are exhausted, Courtesy Pay may be used to cover the transaction.
