Scholarships for Higher Education
Each year, scholarships offered by Elevations Credit Union help our student members continue their education beyond high school.   Seven students received awards totaling $10,000 in 2007.
Scholarship applications for 2008 are now being accepted.

M.R. Hellie Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was established in honor of M.R. Hellie, Elevations Credit Union President from 1964 to 1986. Through his vision and leadership, Mr. Hellie was instrumental in expanding our Credit Union's member services and furthering the national credit union movement.

To be eligible for an M.R. Hellie scholarship, student applicants must:

  • Be a member of Elevations Credit Union
  • Be a high school senior
  • Be the primary member of the account, not just a joint owner on someone else’s account
  • Have account status that is in good standing

Applications for the M.R. Hellie Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors are currently being accepted and are due at Elevations Credit Union by March 19, 2008.

Ray Johnson Scholarship - This scholarship was established to honor P. Raymond Johnson, a founding member of Elevations Credit Union and dedicated volunteer from 1953-2005.   We're pleased to announce that the Ray Johnson Scholarship is now part of the University of Colorado School of Arts and Sciences.  It  is awarded annually on behalf of Elevations Credit Union through the CU Boulder Office of Financial Aid.  

To be eligible, students must be:

  • Residents of the State of Colorado
  • Eligible for need-based financial aid (see CU’s Financial Aid website for details)
  • Enrolled in the CU Boulder College of Arts and Sciences
  • Have a CU Boulder GPA equal to or better than the average GPA of students in the College of Arts and Sciences
