Scholarships for Higher Education

Each year, scholarships offered by Elevations Credit Union help our student members continue their education beyond high school. Since 2000, Elevations Credit Union has granted 133 scholarship awards for a total of $147,645.  
Scholarship applications for 2009 are now being accepted.  To be eligible, student applicants must:

  1. Be a member of Elevations Credit Union
  2. Be the primary member of the account, not just a joint owner on someone else’s account
  3. Have account status that is in good standing

Elevations Credit Union Scholarship Programs

M.R. Hellie Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was established in honor of M.R. Hellie, Elevations Credit Union President from 1964 to 1986. Through his vision and leadership, Mr. Hellie was instrumental in expanding our Credit Union's member services and furthering the national credit union movement.

Elevations Credit Union members who are Colorado high school seniors are eligible based on a combination of factors.  Scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, academic performance and career goals. Deadline March 18th, 2009.

Ray Johnson Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was established to honor P. Raymond Johnson, a founding member of Elevations Credit Union and dedicated volunteer from 1953-2005.   Mr. Johnson also had a long and successful career as an employee of the University of Colorado. 

To celebrate Mr. Johnson’s many contributions, this scholarship will be awarded in 2009, in collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Arts and Sciences.   Applications are available through CU financial aid. Deadline March 18th, 2009.

Brayman-Beach $5,000 College Scholarship

The Brayman-Beach College Scholarship is named in honor of two visionary leaders in the credit union movement, Susan J. Brayman and Carroll D. Beach. This scholarship is available to credit union members who are at least 16 years of age and are pursuing an undergraduate business degree are eligible. One $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually.

The Brayman-Beach scholarship is awarded annually by the Credit Union Foundation of Colorado and Wyoming. Full details and an online application are available at:
