What types of transactions does Falcon consider suspicious for fraud?
Falcon continually analyzes criminal behavior and documents trends associated with check and credit card fraud. This includes the types of items purchased and the dollar amounts spent among other things. At the point of sale, when a transaction is being authorized, Falcon assigns a risk value to the transaction. When the risk of fraud is “very high,” the authorization is declined and Falcon will attempt to contact you.
Please keep your phone number, particularly your cell phone number so you can be reached at the point of transaction, updated at Elevations Credit Union:
What phone number can I reach Falcon at if I have missed their call?
You may contact Falcon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling them at: Fidelity Falcon (Signature Based Transactions): 1.800.890.5097
CO-OP Network Falcon (PIN Based Transactions): 877.505.8474
or outside the US 651.361.2021
How does Falcon confirm they are talking with the true card owner?
Falcon confirms your identity by asking an appropriate verification question, or if you call them back by confirming that the phone number you are calling from matches the phone number on file. If the phone number does not match, Falcon will ask the member to verify with the last 4 digits of their Social Security number.
Can I call the Credit Union instead of Falcon if I receive one of these calls?
No. The Falcon system is in place to more quickly and accurately verify your transactions, and is directly responsible for handling the 24 hour fraud monitoring of your account.
Does this mean that I don't need to monitor my account as closely?
No. You will still need to monitor your account for suspicious activity or unauthorized charges that the Falcon system may not detect.
Do I need to sign up for this service? Is there a cost?
No. All of our members here at Elevations Credit Union are provided this service free of charge, with no activation required.
