Multifactor Authentication FAQs
How do I sign up for multifactor authentication?
New online banking users will set up their security questions at the time they enroll in Link24 Online Banking. Existing online banking users will be prompted to set up their security questions when they login during the next several months. Groups of members will be selected to setup during different time periods so that we may provide the best support.

Do I have to change my Link24 Online Banking Username or Password?
No. Multifactor authentication is a security layer in addition to your existing Username and Password.

Why do I need multifactor authentication?
This security feature makes it difficult for someone to gain unauthorized access to your accounts, even if they have stolen your username and password. This extra layer of security is becoming standard in the financial industry.

Will I be asked one of my security questions every time I login to Link24 Online Banking?
No. The security system recognizes the computers you use repeatedly and most recently. You will be asked a security question when you use an unrecognized computer plus occasionally, on a random basis, when you use a recognized computer.

Why do I need to set up security questions?
For multifactor authentication to work, you must first setup security questions with answers that only you know. Then the system can verify you are who you say you are by matching your answers to those you previously gave.

What if I have a joint owner on my account?
If you have a joint owner on your account you may want to share your questions and answers with them for your online access.

Are the answers to the security questions case sensitive?
No.

Can I change my security questions?
Yes. You can change your security questions at any time. Login to Link24 Online Banking, go to the “Self-Service” tab and click on “Manage Security Questions And Answers.”

Will I still be able to access Link24 Online Banking from other computers?
Yes, you can access Link24 Online Banking from any computer. If you login from an unrecognized computer, you will be prompted to answer one of your security questions.

Do I have to use multifactor authentication?
Yes. We are requiring all online banking users to use this additional security to prevent unauthorized access to their accounts.
