No matter what the scam, you can take steps to protect yourself from fraud.

Here are Some Important General Tips:
  • Be cautious. YOU control the information you give out. Be careful when searching the internet and don’t give out any information if you can’t verify or trust the source.
  • Be aware. Always verify the addresses of websites where you do business. The only website address you should use to login to our Link24 Online Banking site is: https://www.ElevationsCU.com. Only send sensitive personal information on an encrypted, secure website that you trust. Secure websites show a padlock symbol on the bottom right of the browser to verify the security and authenticity of the site.
  • Be proactive. If you have clicked on a link in a phish email, it does not mean you have a virus or have compromised your sensitive personal information. However, if you entered any sensitive personal information into a suspicious website, contact the legitimate business immediately.
  • Know that we're here for you. You can contact us directly at 303.443.4672 or 1.800.429.7626 if you are suspicious about any request for sensitive personal information appearing to come from Elevations Credit Union. Please report any suspicious emails or security questions to security@ElevationsCU.com.
Take Precautions to Protect Yourself
The following are some steps you can do today to ensure your personal information is safe:
  • Report lost or stolen checks, credit or debit cards immediately. Find out more about Elevations CU’s credit card fraud protection program.
  • Shred credit card & insurance offers or any documents that contain your personal information that you no longer need.
  • Review your credit report at least once every year. View more information on your credit report. You can also sign up to set up alerts that monitor changes to your credit report.
  • Review your monthly account statements thoroughly and report any unusual activity or items that you did not purchase to us. If you are enrolled in our online banking or credit card programs, check these often for up-to-date transaction information.
  • Do not carry items such as your social security card or account information in your wallet unless you are using them that day.
  • If you have clicked on a link in a phish email, or receive a supsicious phone call or letter, this does not mean you have a virus or have compromised your personal information. However, If you have entered any sensitive personal information into the fraudulent website, you should contact us immediately.
Protecting Your Computer
  • Ensure your computer is protected by always downloading the latest security fixes for your operating system.
  • Always ensure you have the most recent Internet browser versions. Try using browsers that have more security enhancements.
  • Purchase firewall & virus protection software. You can set these up to filter spam, alert you to potential viruses and trojans, and scan your computer for up-to-date virus protection and deletion.
What to do if You Have Been a Victim of Fraud
  • If you have mistakenly given your Elevations Credit Union login, password or card information to a malicious party, contact us immediately at: 303.443.4672 or 1.800.429.7626. Report suspicious emails to: security@ElevationsCU.com
  •  If you have given out your social security number you may be at risk of identity theft. Act quickly to protect your identity by:
    • Filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/. Or write to: FTC, Consumer Response Center, Room 130-B, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C., 20580.
    • Alerting one of the major credit bureaus immediately to set a freeze on your credit report. This way, no one will be able to open an account in your name without you verifying it first.
    • Closing out any financial accounts that may be compromised.
    • Monitoring your financial information frequently.
