Boulder composer and CU Music Professor Jeffrey Nytch talks about his upcoming Symphony No. 1: Formations, inspired the geography of the Rocky Mountain region and commissioned by the Boulder Philharmonic and the Geological Society of America. Nytch will share his creative process and illustrate how his music reflects the geologic history of our region, complete with visuals and musical samples of the work. The symphony will then receive its premiere in the season-opening concert of the Boulder Philharmonic on Sunday, September 8th in Macky Auditorium.
