Steve Schmidle

Steve Schmidle is an experienced financial services leader with nearly 30 years in the industry, recognized for building strategic alignment through a strong focus on organizational culture, innovation, and member value. He leads the Credit Risk, Payments and Controls, and Corporate Real Estate teams at Elevations.

Steve returned to Elevations Credit Union after previously serving as a senior leader on the finance team and later as Chief Strategy and Performance Officer. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer and then President and Chief Executive Officer of Westerra Credit Union, where he strengthened employee engagement and enhanced the member experience.

Throughout his career, Steve has been a dedicated advocate for credit unions and their ability to positively impact the communities they serve. He brings deep experience in financial institution management, strategic development, and performance excellence to his role at Elevations.

Steve holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado Denver and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Memphis. He has served on the Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence (RMPEx) board of directors for the past 15 years and has been an integral part of the Western Credit Union Management School (WCMS) Alumni Association for the past decade.
