Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families have made incredible sacrifices, and we’re committed to offering support and inclusion — not just on Veterans Day, but all year long.

Making homeownership accessible

One of the most meaningful ways we serve veterans is through VA home loans, which help make homeownership a reality. These loans offer:

  • No down payment
  • No private mortgage insurance (PMI)
  • Competitive interest rates
  • Flexible credit criteria

Eligible individuals include veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and surviving spouses of veterans.

Lunch on us this Veterans Day

On Nov. 11, veterans can enjoy a free lunch at local favorites:

  • Murphy’s Tap House (Louisville)
  • Snack Attack Specialty Sandwiches and Brews (Fort Collins)

Please show identification (military ID, DD form 214, CAC, or VIC) to participate.

Inside the Elevations Veterans Ally ERG

At Elevations Credit Union, supporting veterans isn’t just a one-day-a-year effort — it’s a year-round commitment. That’s the mission behind the Veterans Ally Employee Resource Group (ERG), a team of Elevations employees who come together to support veterans both within the organization and across Colorado.

Founded about two years ago, the ERG includes veterans, spouses of veterans, and allies who share a common goal: to create a space where people with military ties feel seen, heard, and supported.

“We have people in our organization that could benefit from a place where they feel comfortable talking and connecting with people that have similar experiences,” said Adam Mahan, regional branch director and Marine Corps veteran. “This connection and support and just being a good resource for people in the organization is really important.”

That sense of belonging extends beyond Elevations’ walls. The ERG has partnered with organizations like Veterans Community Project (VCP) to build tiny homes for veterans in Longmont — an effort that’s helped veterans and their families find stability and a path forward.

“To actually see vets be able to move into those homes with their families… it kind of warms the heart to actually see the results of those efforts,” said Gary Jones, the ERG’s chair.

The group also helped sponsor a golf tournament with Healing Warriors Program, which provides different forms of no-cost therapy to veterans dealing with injuries and chronic pain. These partnerships reflect the ERG’s broader mission: to identify and uplift organizations doing meaningful work for veterans.

“I would expect nothing less than that we would try to engage and be active in supporting or including our veteran community,” Adam said. “And that we have the ability for our voices to be heard when it comes to the direction of some of these things…that speaks to the culture we have here.”

That culture is one of inclusion and authenticity. Not everyone wants to talk about their service. The ERG respects that, offering space for those who do want to share about their service and quiet support for those who don’t. Adam suggested true interest in a veteran’s experience can mean more than “Thank you for your service."

“If someone comes to me and they ask genuinely, and then after we’ve engaged they thank me, that means more,” he said. “Show me that you care — that it matters.”

As Veterans Day approaches, the ERG is preparing to lay wreaths on veterans’ graves through the holidays — a gesture of remembrance.

Whether it’s building homes, laying wreaths or simply offering a listening ear, the Veterans Ally ERG is a powerful example of how Elevations employees come together to support one another — and the communities they serve.

“What I’d like people to know is that you don’t have to be a veteran in order to support veterans,” Gary said. “I absolutely love that Elevations offers this to the employees as a resource.”
